Thoughts for 2010

I have been invited by Bill Boorman to record a video with some of my thoughts and hopes for the recruitment industry for 2010. This was part of Bill's amazing #HRCARNIVAL initiative that he has been running on his Norton Folgate: The Recruiting Unblog. Bill has now posted over 80 Vlogs ranging from 1-5 minutes from the great and good of recruitment from around the world -  a real testament to the reach he has achieved in the last 12 months.

It has been an honour to work with Bill.  He has included me in his 'Manic Monday' of three BlogTalk Radio shows: 6am for Australia/New Zealand. Noon for UK/Europe and 6pm for the US audience.  You can listen to the latest shows on the players on this blog or by visiting the RCEURO site.

Recuiter House Party on Blog Talk Radio

I have been invited to join Geoff Webb, the Radical Recruiter, on the Recruiter House Party as part of the Bill Boorman TruLondon Crew.

Marc Ernst, founder of Belgian based HRMInfo and Bizinfo, is conducting a survey/questionnaire as the basis for the first interactive white paper about recruiting via social media/networks.

It is his goal to make broad use of the knowledge and experience of HR professionals on the subject of recruiting via social media/networks. Over 500 copies of the Dutch/French editions have been pre-sold and the marketing of the English language edition is beginning now.

Blog Talk Radio - Ready for Lift Off

For the last few weeks, I have been participating in the Bill Boorman online Radio Initiatives, hosted on Blog Talk Radio.  Bill (the organiser of this week's Recruiting Unconference in London) now hosts 3 shows per day:

How does the Unconference work?

Each track will run for a minimum of 90 minutes 4 times during the day. All of the tracks offer the opportunity to get hands on, play and learn. The day is fluid in structure and is designed to provide maximum learning and participation. The track leaders have been chosen for their expertise and experience in recruiting and have the ability and brief to encourage discussion and debate.

RCEURO - NEW IDENTITY

I talked recently about our rebuild and rebranding project following the Beta launch of Recruitment Community Europe during the Global Recruitment Conference 2009 in Amsterdam.

Well, at 2am local time on Monday, RCEURO went live.  Rather than run a couple more weeks on the development platform, we have moved everything into live production. Naturally, that means that we will still be doing some bug fixes and tweaks over the next few weeks, and I am sure that our visitors will be quick to point out any issues (Please!).  We now want to build out the community from our base of 2000 members to reach 5000 by the summer. 

We need the vendors. agencies, HR and recruitment community to come on over, register, join or start up groups and start contributing content articles and blogs.

What a year this will be.
